Google fasting

Reading one of the posts made by Chris Pirillo (@ Lockergnome and famous personality of the now-defunct TechTV) made me realize that, Holy Guacamole Batman, Google really has my virtual life wrapped around its fingers. I spend at least 50% of my time online on Google itself, whether it be to read news or search for anything and everything. I Google as a spare time activity, when I’m bored, when I’m look for new ways to make money online, and when I need a boost of ego (I call it ego/vain googling; you enter your name or web site in the search box and see how popular your are in the Google search engine).

They’re becoming a virtual replica of Microsoft, with the M monopolizing the real computer world while the G monopolizing our virtual world. What is more appalling is the fact that I don’t think I can do what Chris has done, which is to stay away from Google. I don’t think I can survive even for half of my online day. No way — I’d be bonkers to even comprehend living online without Google.
