What an awesome year

I can’t believe 2015 is already drawing to a close in just a couple of weeks.

I made a brief recap of my year in a friends-only Facebook post of mine. TL;DR, I’ll just describe my year in one single word: wow.

It’s not that everything was doing well for me that made this such an amazing year. It’s because of the mix of the highs and lows which made my life so exhilarating. I’ve learned so much about myself through my trial and errors.

I didn’t just come out of them changed. I came out of them profoundly a better person.

I wish I could describe them fully here. But I won’t. They are all too personal, and too dear to my heart.

But it has been an amazing ride.

Looking forward to next year

I’ve decided to do one specific thing next year, which is to lessen my updates on social media. Sounds crazy, doesn’t it?

Not really.

I plan to move all my energy into building content back in WebGrrrl.net. I am taking a sort of reset period from all the need for Likes, Retweets, +1’s. This is the one and only clear target that I’m going to set for myself in 2016.

I haven’t had any definite resolution set since 2014 when I decided to re-align my yearly goals to the 3 C’s — Create, Concentrate and Complete. That same goal I used for 2015 as well to great success.

To be clear, I’m still keeping that same goal, only adding my WebGrrrl.net focus into it specifically.

I need to start writing again. I’ve actually been writing in different blogs, and things just felt all over the place because, frankly, that was what was happening to me in real life. A systematic chaos of activities and thoughts and ideas, those nervous energy that seemed endless and made me fear that I might burn out very soon.

But I didn’t.

And it was amazing. All those effort seems so effortless.

And I am at peace. Despite the chaos, there seems to be a completeness, and acceptance that life is imperfect. And life has never been more perfect.

Could it be — if I may be so presumptuous — that I have stumbled on the path upon which Joseph Campbell has quoted to say?

Follow your bliss.
If you do follow your bliss,
you put yourself on a kind of track
that has been there all the while waiting for you,
and the life you ought to be living
is the one you are living.
When you can see that,
you begin to meet people
who are in the field of your bliss,
and they open the doors to you.
I say, follow your bliss and don’t be afraid,
and doors will open
where you didn’t know they were going to be.
If you follow your bliss,
doors will open for you that wouldn’t have opened for anyone else.

If that is the case, then… well, then. Life ain’t too shabby after all.

See you next year.

Spread the love
