Solar-powered street lights?

During this past month, I have seen several outdoor lighting being used as street lights along the Old Penampang Road. As I drove by every day to and fro my son’s school, I did some simple observation on how these lightings are different from the usual ones I see on the road. I found out that each lighting has a built-in solar panel attached to it, so at night it used a mix of normal electricity and solar power. What a way to save energy, and money! Smart people.
