HitTail is very nice: results for WebGrrrl.net so far

HitTail To-Do list for WebGrrrl.net

If HitTail suggests that you blog a certain word, you’d better do so! Since the initial review of my HitTail stats, there hasn’t been any changes in the Suggestions section other than Harry Potter’s “little friend” and Akademi Fantasia. I decided to ignore the former suggestion, and added the latter to my To-Do list. Took me almost a month to finally blog on this topic, and I took into account Mike Levin’s comment when posting my two latest AF posts.

Whaddyaknow….

WebGrrrl.net appeared on the FIRST page of Google for Akademi Fantasia 5 keyword searches, up there with other top AF bloggers, including Sultan Muzaffar’s!

HitTail managed to capture one visit from a Starware search engine with the same keyword:-

I normally have around 10’s visit per day, but after adding just one AF5 post, today’s visit jumped to 64 — that’s a 500% increase! From the total visits, more than 80% visits came from Google searches for Akademi Fantasia. Sweet. Now I understand why HitTail said that we can do without PPC ads to increase our traffic.

I’m looking forward to trying a new HitTail feature — the growth view. It looks interesting, but I’ve yet to know how I can utilize this to increase my site traffic.

Growth view shows the progress of your HitTailing over time. Every month we record a “snapshot” of how well you are doing and give you this view to compare your current data to the past. With successful HitTailing, your long tail chart grows wider (more hits) and longer (more new keywords). Use the slider or click on the dates to view the long tail chart for a month that interests you. You can also switch between engines and compare your growth on Google to your growth on Yahoo, for example. The statistics on top of the screen tells you about the growth of your “head” (top ten keywords, in red) vs. the long tail growth (in green), as well as the number of new unique keywords collected for your site.

Great job, HitTail! If this becomes commercialized, it’s just one of those things I’m willing to pay for.

Spread the love

  1. Good job! I’ve been reviewing the suggestions that HitTail gives me, but I haven’t gotten around to formulating anything around them. One of the suggestions, “girls peeing”, is something I just can’t wrap my head around. ๐Ÿ™‚
