I don’t know how many dozens of times I have tried to arrange and re-arrange this one small room I call my office, to no avail. Within hours, it becomes all messed up again, thanks to my kids. Ise the office to finish up some stuff I do when I tutor part-time, or finishing up my blogging tasks. I currently work on my netbook, but I have plans on spiffing up the office to include two TV stands where I can place large LCD screens and improve my multi-tasking.

Blogging is just one of those things I do in order to keep me busy. It’s satisfying to know that I have an outlet that I can utilize as a hobby, while improving my technical skills and make money with, all at the same time. My blogs keep me nicely sane with all other hectic matters happening around me. I’m so busy nowadays that I wouldn’t have time to eat. In a way it’s nice, because my weight is decreasing, and I don’t need to take appetite suppressants or anything.

I’ve seen lots of tactics by bloggers who had wanted to increase their blog participation by giving prizes to those who commented or subscribed to their sites. I’d like to do something like that on my blog, but I’m not sure whether I’m up to the task. For one thing, I need to come up with a really attractive prize (would a gift voucher for wholesale housewares work?), then promote the event, then keep up with everyone’s submissions… too much work for me.

One thing I wonder when getting myself involved in blogging is whether I will get the chance to travel around giving talks about the benefits of blogging. You probably read some of the things that probloggers get to do when they become rich and/or famous. When I get to their level, who knows? I’ll be going round like them, giving talks and probably even have to go to some extended stay hotels since I’d be traveling so much. Wishful thinking, I know, but it doesn’t hurt anyone :)

Some people do this on purpose, some don’t. If you are in the latter group, and didn’t purposely instigated something controversial in your blog post, you may be at least a little overwhelmed with the backlash you may receive through your blog comments. Now, you don’t have to go running out to the nearest store and grab yourself some self defense products, but you do need to know some tricks to handle and probably dampen the situation. You can find the details in one of my future posts at Blogging Fu, so stay tuned.

One of the topics that I plan to discuss in my new blogs is those concerning the effects that different niches have on the income one would earn. I have personally experienced it, and by God the differences are huge! The domains of software, health, travel and Internet are definitely a few of the niches out there that can seriously increase your earnings multiple-fold. I wonder if colon cleanser is a sub-niche I could be passionate about?

I admit that I have a long way to go before I can consider making money online blogging to be a full-time income generating passion of mine. I’m definitely making more money doing my full-time job rather than my online job. Still, it’s good to get something extra to splurge on yourself, like buying that brand-new home theater furniture, or just having some money to add on to my savings budget.

I am lucky that so far none of my blogs have ever received much disapproval from the cyberworld. I tend to stay away from controversial issues, save for a time or two when I really had to vent my feelings about what is happening around us. I did post once or twice on the topic of AdSense which created much comments and debate. I’d rather blog about inane stuff, though, such as the day I lost my Samsonite luggage bag in the airport due to carelessness, heheh. I don’t go for controversy.

You know, it’s true when they say that buying quality products are so worth it, not matter how pricey they are. Faucets are no exception. Most of the plumbing furniture set up by default by the housing developers are way below par in terms of durability. Right before I moved in, I made sure that our faucets, particularly the kitchen faucets and those on the bathroom sinks, be changed. Otherwise, I’ll be risking another flooding horror as what I’ve faced in my rented apartment. Messy, messy stuff.

I recently paid a visit to the house that is owned by a relative of mine, and I was impressed with the way her stuff was organized. I was particularly in awe of her garage, in which she fitted the ceiling with a sturdy rack for hanging her kids’ little bikes. Some of the stuff that were hung on the walls were latched onto the hooks with ball lock pins instead of padlocks, which means that the stuff on the walls are locked in securely without the hassle of finding where the keys are. Another inspiring idea for my yet-to-be-built home!
