What I do now
- I blog at The Blog of Rugrats, my namesake domain, and four other niche sites that I simply love;
- I write for BANDWIDTH, Kota Kinabalu’s number 1 free music, entertainment and lifestyle magazine as a columnist for their Tech section;
- I develop web apps and build WordPress-powered CMSes (I develop on other CMS and PHP platforms as well, like CakePHP, SMARTY, Drupal and Moodle);
- I do part-time tutoring at Open University Malaysia, teaching IT for management and e-commerce;
- I try to be involved in community services whenever I can, particularly when it involves advocating the needs of children with intellectual and developmental challenges;
- I raise an army of four kids, the youngest having designer genes.
I got my hands full, I know. Nevertheless, this is exactly the life I choose to live in, and I’m grateful for every second of it.
Other stuff about me
I had my first web site in Geocities.com (TheTropics/4466) in 1996 back when I was in the States, and have been blogging since 1999, even before it was called that (except for the fact that my user comments were made private). The rest, as they say, is history.
I’m slightly well-known in the WordPress community for my little project ofwidgetizing a well-liked WordPress plugin that shows your top commentators.
I love anything that has to do with IT, the Internet, music, entrepreneurship and work-at-home matters. I am a downbeat freelancer, a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, and an aspiring content developer for subjects on economics, business, IT, the World Wide Web and special needs.
